Excerpts from Sampson's Pen Pal Diary

Date: 1/26/06

Sampson came to San Quentin today. He was a bit apprehensive and reluctant to go up stairs. But by evening he was wagging his tail in my room.

Date: 1/28/06

We practiced "sit" and recall today. Sampson likes to be close and cuddle. He also likes to play with Lucy, another Pen Pal dog.

Date: 1/30/06

Sampson is feeling more confident and secure in his new home. He greets dogs well. He also jumped up on my bed and rearranged my belongings in my room while I was gone.

Date: 1/31/06

Today we worked on wait, sit, stay and leash walking. Sampson is doing well. He seems happy with lots of tail wagging. He enjoys toys and chew sticks.

Sampson is happy. He loves to go wherever I go. He loves his "dirty rotten kitty" toy. And he loves me to scratch him behind the ears. Sampson is always gentle and playful.
