Marin Humane Society Executive Director Elected to Board of Directors for the State Humane Association of California
Neil Trent joins elite group of California animal advocacy professionals
(NOVATO, CALIF., April 21, 2008) Neil Trent, Executive Director of the Marin Humane Society, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the State Humane Association of California (SHAC).
Mr. Trent brings more than 30 years of international experience in the animal protection field to SHAC, a nonprofit membership association of California humane societies and SPCAs. He is an internationally recognized animal protection champion and has worked on six of the seven continents to improve the lives of animals. Mr. Trent joined the Marin Humane Society as Executive Director in July 2007.

Founded in 1909, the State Humane Association of California (SHAC) is a nonprofit membership organization comprised of nearly 140 humane societies, SPCAs, city and county animal-control agencies, and other animal welfare organizations throughout California. SHAC is the original publisher of the California Animal Laws Handbook, a compilation of key California codes and regulations pertaining to animals.
