Adoption Counselors
Find lifelong, loving homes for shelter animals by interviewing, evaluating and matching prospective adopters with the right animal for their family.

Adoption Outpost
Take adoption animals out into the community to meet the public, and perhaps their new family! Outpost locations include The Town Center and The Village Shopping centers in Corte Madera, Toby's Feed Barn in Pt. Reyes, and downtown Mill Valley.

Auxiliary Thrift Shop
Volunteer as a salesperson in this busy San Anselmo store. Proceeds support the Society's Spay/Neuter Clinic.

The Auxiliary is looking for outgoing, customer-friendly people to help at the Thrift Shop in San Anselmo: flexible hours, 1-2 days a month. For further information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator or call (415) 883-4621 x267.

The Thrift shop is located at 360 San Anselmo Ave., in San Anselmo. It is open Monday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, please call (415) 459-5787.

All proceeds from the store benefit the Society's Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Dog Training Assistants
Assist our trainers in different levels of dog training classes and help guardians and their pets become better companions for each other.

Foster Care
Provide shelter for sick, injured or very young animals in your home. Food, supplies and medical care are provided by The Marin Humane Society.

Animal Care
Care for shelter animals by feeding and grooming them, cleaning cages and assisting with various kennel duties.

Customer Care
Provide extensive education regarding animal issues (spay/neuter, local county ordinances, general pet care, behavior issues and euthanasia) to the public.

Pet Pals
Walk dogs, entertain cats and socialize small companion animals to keep them happy while they await new homes.

Education Outreach
Participate as an Education Docent to educate children by bringing humane programs into the classroom. Tour Guides and Special Event volunteers are also needed.

SHARE (Special Human-Animal Relationships)
Assist this program with providing a variety of services to help the elderly and disabled. These include:

Animal-Assisted Therapy
Bring your own pet to a variety of commumity facilities, from nursing and convalescent homes to special education schools.

Pet Meals on Wheels
Collect and deliver pet food for distribution to the companion animals of participants of the Meals on Wheels program.

Side-by-Side
Help the elderly, homebound and/or people with AIDS care for their pets in their home.
