The Dog Fund The Marin Humane Society Dog Fund was established to save more shelter dogs' lives. From parasites to orthopedic cases, puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs 8 years and older are all given a full physical and behavioral evaluation. Some individuals require minor surgical procedures, while others can be complicated and require extensive medical care. The Dog Fund covers costs associated with routine medical care, X-rays, bloodwork, heartworm disease, and a variety of complex medical procedures for shelter dogs often requiring an outside veterinary specialist for diagnostic care and treatment. Here's just one example of the Dog Fund at work: Lady has the most wonderful sweet and loving personality but she also had severe hip and elbow dysplasia that are very painful conditions requiring expensive surgery to correct. If you met Lady, you would want to make sure she got what she needed ... a new lease on life.
