Be an Advocate

The mission of The Marin Humane Society includes advocating for animals’ interest and welfare, and inspiring awareness and compassion for all living things. We take these responsibilities seriously and, sometimes, it means that our organization gets involved in helping “invisible” animals, such as:

• performing animals in circuses and rodeos,
• farmed animals, like the hundreds of hens we rescued from slaughter and placed for adoption, and
• wild animals, like the non-native deer of Point Reyes.

At times, it also means getting involved in the legal process to protect animals, such as our successful suit against Petco, resulting in improved standards of care for animals in their California facilities, and our work on behalf of the 1998 voter-approved statewide initiative to ban leghold traps.

We invite you to join us in advocating for the animals of Marin County who need your help.
